The EVENWAY Behaviour Change Method

Hero image for the Evenway Method

Real life changes. Your approach can change with it.

The EVENWAY Method is a behaviour change method designed to help you adapt, keep moving forward and return without treating setbacks as failure.

A behaviour change method built for real life

FULL

When time, energy and circumstances allow, do the full version of the behaviour you planned.

ADAPT

When the full version no longer fits the situation, adjust it rather than abandoning it.

MINIMUM

When your capacity is low, do the smallest meaningful version that keeps the behaviour alive.

RETURN

When things have stopped completely, come back without treating the setback as failure.

The goal stays. The route adapts.

What this looks like in real life

Busy workday

FULL: Cook the planned meal.
ADAPT: Use a quicker version.
MINIMUM: Choose the simplest healthier option available.
RETURN: If the day goes off track, make the next meal your return point.

Movement

FULL: Complete your planned activity.
ADAPT: Shorten it or change the activity.
MINIMUM: Take a brief walk or do a few minutes of movement.
RETURN: Resume at the next realistic opportunity.

Low motivation

FULL: Follow your normal plan.
ADAPT: Make the task easier.
MINIMUM: Do one small action.
RETURN: Restart without waiting for Monday.

Social occasion

FULL: Follow your usual approach where practical.
ADAPT: Make flexible choices around the event.
MINIMUM: Focus on one useful behaviour.
RETURN: Continue normally afterwards rather than starting again.

Why this matters

Most people don’t struggle because they never know what to do. They struggle because the ideal version is not always possible. The EVENWAY Method gives you options between “perfect” and “nothing”.
